Bouncing Around the Globe

Wouldn't you like to be a world traveler? I know I would. I can't say I have traveled much though. Most of my life has been spent close to home. But I love to watch travelogues on TV. I could take a vacation with Giada any day. Just kidding, G. :)

Travel is such a big part of modern life it has spawned whole industries: cruise ships, airlines, hotels, car rental agencies. You name it, someone has put it together for the traveler. Can imagine jetting around the globe in 24 hours? I'll bet that would be tiring.

Maybe you'll take time out to visit a lot of historic places around the country. Or maybe you'll take a tour of the national parks around the country. There are a lot of places you can travel to without ever leaving the country.

Once in a while you just have to check out odd stuff around the Web to see what people offer for vacations and travel. There are occasional great deals on special bargains that can tempt you into taking a trip when you least expect it.

Travel should not be an obligation. We should not have to do it just for business. We should all be able to get up and go whenever we please, wherever we wish. Travel should be a basic human right. But it's still all too often a privilege of the privileged. I mean it takes money to travel.

About the only way you can see any country or continent on ten dollars a day any more is if you pack a lunch and take a sleeping bag. And I don't think that quite fits into the budget.
